OVERVIEW & ITINERARY

Details

Gasherbrum II (8,035 meters) is the 13th highest mountain in the world, located in the Karakoram range of Pakistan. Known for its beauty and difficulty, it is often considered one of the most impressive peaks in the Karakoram Himalayas. Part of the Gasherbrum massif, it is situated in the breathtaking Concordia area, which is home to some of the highest peaks in the world, including K2.

The Southwest Ridge route of Gasherbrum II presents a unique mountaineering challenge, combining steep sections with ice and snow-covered ridges. The climb is demanding, with narrow ridges and difficult technical terrain. The first successful ascent of Gasherbrum II was made by an Austrian expedition led by Fritz Moravec, Josef Larch, and Hans Willenpart on July 8, 1956.

Trekking to Gasherbrum II Base Camp offers spectacular views of surrounding glaciers, including the Gasherbrum Glacier, as climbers work their way toward the summit through some of the world’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.
