OVERVIEW & ITINERARY

Details

Khunyang Chhish (7,852 meters) is the second highest peak in the Hispar Muztagh, part of the Karakoram range. It is ranked 21st in the world and 8th in Pakistan. This towering peak, part of a massif that includes several other notable peaks, is considered one of the most challenging and rewarding climbs in the Karakoram.

The mountain is known for its steep, sharp ridges, glaciers, and ice walls. The ascent is difficult, with tricky terrain and frequent avalanches, making it a true test of mountaineering skills. The first successful summit of Khunyang Chhish was made in 1971 by a Polish expedition, overcoming early challenges and previous failed attempts.

Climbing Khunyang Chhish requires proper preparation, as the peak presents not only physical but technical challenges. The expedition is suitable for experienced climbers who are familiar with high-altitude, ice, and rock climbing.
