OVERVIEW & ITINERARY
Details
Chogolisa (7,765 meters) is one of the prominent peaks in the Karakoram Range, located southwest of the Gasherbrum group, near the Baltoro Glacier. It is the 14th highest mountain in Pakistan and the 36th highest in the world. Known for its distinctive long summit ridge, Chogolisa is a challenging peak and a highly sought-after climb for mountaineers seeking a tough and rewarding adventure.
Chogolisa consists of two summits: the Southwest summit, which is the higher of the two, and the Northeast summit, known as Bride Peak, which stands at 7,554 meters. Bride Peak was named in 1892 by Martin Conway and was climbed in 1958 by a Japanese team. The first ascent of Chogolisa I was achieved on August 2, 1975, by Fred Pressl and Gustav Ammerer, members of an Austrian expedition.
The mountain’s terrain is known for its steep, snow-covered faces and difficult ice climbing conditions, making this expedition ideal for experienced climbers. The Karakoram provides stunning views and challenging climbs, attracting mountaineers from around the world who want to experience one of Pakistan’s most breathtaking mountain landscapes.
