OVERVIEW & ITINERARY
Details
Noshaq, located in the northwest corner of Afghanistan, along the Durand Line (the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan), is the second highest peak in the Hindu Kush Range and stands as the 68th tallest mountain on Earth. This majestic peak is a part of a four-peak massif, with the Main Summit being the most prominent. Noshaq is an awe-inspiring challenge for mountaineers, offering steep rock faces and ice-covered ridges, but also tremendous rewards in terms of breathtaking views and adventure.
The mountain was first summited in 1960 by Japanese and Polish teams via the South East Ridge from the Qadzi Deh Glacier in Afghanistan. Over the years, the West Ridge route from Qadzi Deh has become the most frequently used route for climbing Noshaq. In 1973, a Polish expedition made the first successful winter ascent of the peak. This expedition provides a mix of technical climbs and high-altitude challenges.
The Noshaq Expedition is perfect for experienced climbers seeking to tackle a challenging and remote peak, where the climbing conditions demand resilience, technical skill, and careful preparation.
