The Three Passes of Chitral trek is a magnificent journey through the Hindukush Mountains, home to some of Pakistan’s most challenging yet awe-inspiring peaks. This trek takes you through the Darkot, Boroghil, and Shah Jinali passes, following ancient routes once used by Alexander the Great and the Silk Road. You’ll experience a blend of stunning landscapes, remote villages, and cultural immersion. Passing through the Kalash Valleys and exploring the historic Kafir Kalash people offers a rare opportunity to experience untouched cultures and traditions.

ITINERARY – Three Passes of Chitral (Darkot-Boroghil & Shah Jinali) – 20 Days

Day 1: Arrive Islamabad, briefing with Alpine club of Pakistan, Hotel.

Arrive in Islamabad, meet with the team at the Alpine Club of Pakistan for a briefing about the expedition and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Islamabad to Besham

Drive from Islamabad to Besham and check into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Besham to Gilgit

Drive from Besham to Gilgit, a scenic journey offering views of the valleys and mountain ranges. Overnight stay in Gilgit.

Day 4: Karimabad Hunza Day Trip

Explore the stunning Karimabad in Hunza, known for its beautiful landscapes and cultural richness.

Day 5: Jeep Drive to Darkot

Take a jeep drive to Darkot and set up camp for the night, ready to start the trekking adventure.

Day 6: Trek from Darkot to Darkot Pass Base Camp

Begin your trek from Darkot and head towards Darkot Pass Base Camp. The trek offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

Day 7: Over Darkot Pass to Chikar

Trek over the Darkot Pass (4650 meters) and descend to Chikar for your overnight camp.

Day 8: Excursion to Boroghil Pass (3807 meters)

Day 9: Chikar to Yarkhun
