The Biafo Hispar La and Snow Lake Trek is one of the most remote and wilderness based treks in the Karakoram Mountains. This trek takes you deep into a vast world of ice, rock, and open skies, where human presence is rare and nature dominates every direction. The highlight of the trek is Snow Lake, a legendary high altitude basin once believed to be a massive ice cap by early explorers.
The route connects the Biafo Glacier with the Hispar Glacier by crossing Hispar La (5151 m), creating one of the longest continuous glacier walks on Earth. Trekkers experience pure isolation, dramatic glacial scenery, alpine flowers, and towering peaks. This trek is ideal for experienced trekkers who seek raw adventure, silence, and untouched mountain landscapes.
ITINERARY – Biafo Hispar La & Snow Lake Trek – 34 Days
Arrival in Islamabad. Transfer to hotel. Trek briefing and permit preparation.
Fly or drive to Skardu. Overnight stay.
Free day in Skardu for rest and preparation.
Drive by jeeps to Askole.
Trek from Askole to Namla. Camp overnight.
Trek from Namla to Mango. Camp overnight.
Trek from Mango to Baintha. Camp overnight.
Free day at Baintha for acclimatisation.
Trek from Baintha to Shuifang. Camp overnight.
Trek from Shuifang to Snow Lake. Camp overnight.
Rest day at Snow Lake for exploration and acclimatisation.
Trek to Hispar Pass Base Camp. Overnight camping.
