Details
The Ghondogoro La Trek is one of the most demanding and rewarding high altitude treks in the Karakoram. This trek combines the legendary Baltoro K2 Base Camp route with the scenic Hushe Valley, crossing the mighty Ghondogoro La Pass (5600 m). It is designed for strong trekkers who want to experience Concordia, K2 Base Camp, and one of the highest trekking passes in Pakistan in a single journey. The trek offers extreme mountain scenery, massive glaciers, iconic peaks, and a dramatic transition from the icy world of Baltoro to the green pastures of Hushe Valley.
ITINERARY – Ghondogoro La Trek – 22 Days
Arrive in Islamabad and transfer to hotel. Trek briefing and preparation.
Fly or drive to Skardu. Overnight in hotel.
Additional day in Skardu for rest and preparation, or arrival from Chilas if traveling by road.
Drive to Thongol by jeeps. Camp overnight.
Trek from Thongol to Korofon. Camp overnight.
Trek from Korofon to Julla. Camp overnight.
Trek from Julla to Paiju. Camp overnight.
Rest day at Paiju for acclimatization and glacier preparation.
Trek from Paiju to Khobursay. Camp overnight.
Trek from Khobursay to Biane (Goro I). Camp overnight.
Trek from Goro I to Concordia. Camp overnight.
Day trip to K2 Base Camp. Return to Concordia camp.
Rest day at Concordia for exploration and acclimatization.
Trek from Concordia to Ali Camp. Camp overnight.
Cross Ghondogoro La (5600 m) and descend to Khiyuspan. Camp overnight.
Rest day at Khiyuspan for recovery after the pass crossing.
Trek from Khiyuspan to Ghondogoro summer pasture. Camp overnight.
Trek from summer pasture to Hushe Valley. Camp overnight.
Drive from Hushe to Skardu by jeeps. Overnight in hotel.
Fly to Islamabad or drive to Besham. Overnight in hotel.
Stay in Islamabad or drive from Besham to Islamabad. Overnight in hotel.
Transfer to airport for onward destination. End of trek.
