Details

Diran Peak, standing at 7,026 meters, is one of the most iconic summits in the Karakoram Range. Known for its impressive beauty and challenging ascent, it offers climbers the opportunity to experience high-altitude mountaineering in one of the most rugged and remote areas of Pakistan. With its steep ridges and challenging ice-covered faces, the peak presents a rewarding yet difficult climb. It is ideal for those looking to push their limits while enjoying breathtaking views of neighboring peaks, including Rakaposhi and Spantik.

ITINERARY– Diran Peak Expedition – 28 days

Day 1: Arrive in Islamabad, Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival in Islamabad, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can rest and prepare for the upcoming adventure.

Day 2: Drive to Chilas

Enjoy the scenic drive to Chilas, a town known for its beautiful landscapes. Check into the hotel and relax.

Day 3: Drive to Skardu

Continue the drive to Skardu, an adventure hub in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel.

Day 4: Drive by Jeep to Arundo Camp (2,770m)

From Skardu, drive by jeep to Arundo, a small village where you will set up your first camp at 2,770 meters.

Day 5: Trek to Chogo Brangsa Camp (3,300m)

Begin your trek to Chogo Brangsa, where you will set up camp for the night at an elevation of 3,300 meters.

Day 6: Trek to Bolocho Camp (3,800m)

Continue trekking towards Bolocho Camp, where you will rest overnight at 3,800 meters.

Day 7: Trek to Spantik Base Camp (4,300m)

Trek to Spantik Base Camp, situated at 4,300 meters, where you will set up camp and prepare for the climb.

Day 8: Rest Day

Take a rest day at Payu to acclimatize and prepare for the upcoming trek to higher altitudes.

Day 9-21: Climb Spantik Peak (13 Days)

The main climbing phase begins, with a series of efforts towards summiting Diran Peak. The number of days for the climb will depend on the weather conditions, your climbing pace, and acclimatization. This period includes several rest days to help with the acclimatization process at high altitudes.

Day 22: Packing up Base Camp

After the summit attempt, pack up your gear and prepare for the descent.

Day 23-24: Trek back to Arandu and drive to chotrung (hot spring).

Trek back down to Arandu, where you will camp for the night.

After descending to Arandu, continue trekking to the Chotrung Hot Springs for a relaxing bath in the natural hot springs.

Day 25: Drive back to skardu, hotel.

Drive back to Skardu and check into your hotel for rest.

Day 26: Fly to Islamabad or drive to Besham.

Drive back to Skardu and check into your hotel for rest.

Day 27: In Islamabad; debriefing at the ministry of tourism

Travel back to Islamabad, or enjoy a free day in Skardu if desired.

Day 28: Departure

Depart to your onward destination, marking the end of the Diran Peak Expedition.
