The Hindukush Kachi Kani Pass Trek offers a unique adventure in the Hindukush Mountains of Chitral. This stunning trek takes you through remote valleys, ancient Silk Road routes, and the beautiful Kalash Valley. Located on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Chitral is home to Tirich Mir, the highest peak in the Hindukush range. This trek will take you to Kachi Kani Pass at an elevation of 4816m, and offers unparalleled views of the mountainous landscapes, glaciers, and valleys.
ITINERARY – Hindukush Kachi Kani Pass Trek – 13 Days
Arrive in Islamabad, meet with the team at the Alpine Club of Pakistan for a briefing about the expedition and overnight stay at the hotel.
Travel by road to Chitral and check into the hotel for the night.
Visit the Kalash Valleys, home to the indigenous Kalash people, known for their unique culture and traditions. Overnight stay in the valleys.
Take a jeep drive to Sor Laspur and set up camp for the night.
Trek from Sor Laspur to Nalgar, a journey of about 5-6 hours through the rugged terrain.
Continue your trek from Nalgar to Khunzazoe, camping at this scenic spot.
Ascend to Kachikani Pass at 4816 meters, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Continue to Bokhtshal for your next camp.
Trek from Bokhtshal to Shonz, passing through beautiful valleys and dense forests.
Trek to the serene Mahodand Lake, a stunning high-altitude lake surrounded by towering peaks.
Continue the trek from Mahodand Lake to Kalam, known for its picturesque valley and clear streams.
Trek from Kalam to Mingora, a lively town with local markets, and rest overnight.
Drive back to Islamabad from Mingora. Check into the hotel for a relaxing night.
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. End of the trek.
