The Cholistan Camel Safari is a unique cultural and desert adventure that takes you deep into the heart of the Cholistan Desert. This journey blends history, heritage, and traditional desert life. You will explore Mughal era landmarks in Lahore, the ancient ruins of Harappa, the royal city of Bahawalpur, and the vast golden dunes of Cholistan.
Traveling by camel from camp to camp, you’ll experience the real lifestyle of Cholistani nomads, their villages, music, and traditions. Nights are spent in desert camps under open skies, with local music and dances around campfires. The safari ends near the majestic Derawar Fort, one of the most iconic desert forts in South Asia, followed by a visit to the historic city of Multan.
ITINERARY – Cholistan Camel Safari – 12 Days
Arrive in Lahore. Meet and assist, then transfer to hotel. Overnight stay in Lahore.
Full day sightseeing in Lahore. Visit Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort, Shalimar Gardens, Wazir Khan Mosque, and the old Walled City. Overnight stay in Lahore.
Drive to Bahawalpur. Enroute visit Harappa, the ancient Indus Valley Civilization site and museum. Continue to Bahawalpur. Overnight stay.
Morning city tour of Bahawalpur and visit Lal Suhanra National Park. Afternoon drive to Channan Pir. Overnight stay.
Begin camel safari. Camel ride from Channan Pir to Toba Shah Kot. Camp overnight in the desert.
Camel safari continues to Dhori. Visit nomad camps and desert villages. Overnight desert camp.
Camel ride to Derawar Fort. Camp near the fort after farewell to camels. Visit Derawar Mosque and Royal Graveyard.
Drive to Multan. Enroute visit Uch Sharif and the tomb of Bibi Jawindi. Continue to Multan. Overnight stay.
Full day sightseeing in Multan. Visit shrines of Shah Rukn e Alam, Bahauddin Zakaria, Gardezi, Eidgah Mosque, and the old city. Overnight stay.
Drive back to Lahore. Overnight stay.
Sightseeing and shopping in Lahore. Free time to explore local bazaars. Overnight stay.
Transfer to airport for onward destination.
