Details

The Thalley La Trek is a scenic and relatively easy trek in the heart of Baltistan, connecting the beautiful Khaplu and Shigar valleys. This trek passes through the lush pastures of Thalley Valley and crosses Thalley La, offering wide mountain views without technical glacier travel. It is suitable for trekkers of all ages who want to experience Karakoram landscapes, Balti culture, and peaceful mountain trails. The route gives a rare chance to interact with local Balti communities while enjoying green valleys, alpine camps, and dramatic peaks.

ITINERARY – Thalley La Trek – 13 Days

Day 1: Arrive Islamabad, Transfer to Hotel.

Arrive in Islamabad and transfer to hotel. Trek briefing and rest.

Day 2: Fly to Skardu. If flight is cancelled due to weather, drive to Chilas. Overnight in hotel.

Fly to Skardu If Flight Cancelled Due To Bad Weather, Drive To Chilas. Transfer to Hotel

Day 3: Free day in Skardu If Fly Or drive Chilas/Skardu.

Drive to Gilgit along the Karakoram Highway. Overnight at PTDC Motel.

Day 4: Drive by jeeps to Balgar Village, Camp.

Drive by jeeps to Balgar Village. Set up camp.

Day 5: Trek to Thalley Village, Camp.

Trek to Thalley Village through green pastures. Camp overnight.

Day 6: Rest day at Thalley Village, Camp.

Rest day at Thalley Village for acclimatization and local interaction. Camp.

Day 7: Trek to Thalley Goma, Camp.

Trek from Thalley Village to Thalley Goma. Camp overnight.

Day 8: Trek Thalley Goma to Thalley La, Camp.

Trek from Thalley Goma to Thalley La. Camp near the pass.

Day 9: Trek To Khobursay, Camp.

Trek to Khobursay. Camp overnight.

Day 10: Trek Thalley La to Shigar Broq, Camp.

Trek from Thalley La to Shigar Broq. Camp overnight.

Day 11: Fly to Islamabad or drive to Besham, Hotel.

Fly to Islamabad or drive to Besham. Overnight in hotel.

Day 12: Drive to Islamabad, Transfer to Hotel.

Optional climb of Hispar Peak (5650m) or acclimatization day.

Day 13: Fly Back To Home.

Transfer to airport for onward flight. End of trek.
